Disney to investigate data breach by Russian hacktivist group Nullbulge

Disney is investigating a major data breach following a claim by the hacktivist group Nullbulge, which has allegedly leaked over 1.2 terabytes of internal communications. The breach reportedly includes sensitive details about upcoming projects, advertising campaigns, and employee information.

Nullbulge, a group advocating for artists’ rights, targeted Disney due to its use of artificial intelligence (AI) in creative processes, which they argue harms artists. The group claims they accessed Disney's internal Slack channels via an insider, though this has not been independently confirmed.

The leaked data reportedly includes raw images, project information, and technical details. Nullbulge, known for opposing AI in creative fields, views it as intellectual theft. Disney has confirmed the investigation but has not disclosed specifics about the breach's extent or impact. The incident raises concerns about AI’s effects on artists' careers.
