ITC’s Sunrise Spices has launched “Xipa Bisari: A Back to Roots Series”, continuing its mission to celebrate culinary authenticity. The series premiered on April 16th in Guwahati, featuring Chef Atul Lahkar as he embarks on a journey through Assam’s villages and markets to rediscover ancient recipes and cooking techniques.
Supported by the Cultural Ministry of Assam, the 10-episode series highlights the knowledge of local custodians, especially elderly women, who’ve preserved traditions through storytelling. Chef Lahkar reinterprets traditional dishes using Sunrise Spices’ authentic blends, offering a modern twist on Assam’s culinary classics.
With Xipa Bisari, Sunrise Spices honors Assam’s food heritage, empowers local communities, and encourages the next generation to reconnect with their culinary roots while showcasing the power of its signature spice blends.
