Healthcare financial infrastructure platform QubeHealth-Pay (Qube) has entered the pet healthcare segment through a strategic partnership with Petos Insurance, an Indian provider of pet health insurance and wellness services. The collaboration aims to make veterinary care more affordable by integrating Qube's payment and healthcare financing solutions into the Petos ecosystem.
As part of the partnership, QubePay has been embedded within the Petos mobile application to power Petos Pay, which is now available to all policyholders. Pet owners covered under Petos Insurance can use the platform to pay veterinary bills at clinics and hospitals, receive healthcare-linked cashback on eligible expenses, and access Qube's affordability tools alongside the insurance and wellness benefits already offered by Petos.
The initiative extends Qube's existing healthcare financing model, which has focused on addressing medical expenses not covered by traditional health insurance, into the growing pet care market. Both companies believe that while insurance helps manage major medical events, pet owners continue to bear significant out-of-pocket costs for routine veterinary consultations, vaccinations, medicines, and preventive care.
By introducing integrated digital payments and cashback rewards for veterinary expenses, the partnership seeks to ease the financial burden on pet families while encouraging regular healthcare for companion animals. The companies noted that rising awareness of pet wellness, increasing veterinary costs, and higher disposable incomes are driving greater demand for comprehensive financial solutions in the pet care sector.
Over the next 18 months, the collaboration is expected to facilitate more than ₹50 crore in pet healthcare transactions. Petos also projects the sale of over 10,000 Petos Cover insurance policies within the next two years, supported by an anticipated annual growth rate of 100 percent.
With pets increasingly regarded as family members, the partnership reflects a broader shift in India's pet healthcare ecosystem, where financial accessibility and insurance are becoming essential components of responsible pet ownership rather than optional services.
