Pond’s has unveiled ‘Sun Portraits,’ an innovative campaign that reimagines traditional Rajasthani art to highlight the impact of sun exposure. Set in Phalodi, a town known for extreme heat, the initiative features life-size murals of local women painted on their homes by artists trained in Phad.
These portraits use UV-sensitive paint, causing them to gradually fade, stain, and change under continuous sunlight—visually reflecting skin damage caused by UV rays. Instead of direct messaging, the campaign blends seamlessly into daily life, making its point through lived experience. By merging cultural heritage with awareness, it transforms art into a compelling, community-driven reminder of the importance of sun protection.
